With over 33 years’ experience as a safety professional, David is well-versed in Hazardous Materials Response and Training. As a Hazardous materials specialist, he managed a State Response Team for all hazardous materials involving highway, rail and clandestine laboratory operations. During David’s career with the Arizona Department of Public Safety and 6 years in the private sector as a Safety Compliance Manager, he has conducted DOT Compliance Audits and associated training and is looking forward to providing these services to ETC’s clients.
MSHA Instructor / Consultant, Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer
Dean has been actively involved in safety training, mine safety, mining, construction management, engineering, environmental and geological exploration since 1980. Mr. Hendzel is an experienced MSHA and OSHA trainer, course developer and safety and environmental auditor. His diverse on-the-job experience brings a fresh and personal perspective into the classroom which is the key to engaging his audience.

Mr. Cahill has over 43 years of work experience in safety; investigations; inspections; and developing and administering safety and health programs. He was actively involved in the emergency response field for 20 years as a first responder, rescue man, trainer, fire investigator, fire inspector, fire officer, Hazardous Material Technician and Incident Commander. His years of planning, directing and coordinating occupational safety programs along with his vast training experience make him a valuable asset to ETC.
Janet Gallup, CSP
Safety & HazMat Instructor / Consultant
Janet is a safety professional with 27 years of experience in loss prevention, loss control, hazard analysis, fleet safety and hazardous materials. In addition to providing safety consultation services, she supports training in the areas of emergency response for hazardous materials and DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation.
Electrical / Arc Flash Instructor
Stuart Quist is a motivated and knowledgeable safety professional with 27 years’ experience in the construction and electrical industry trades. He obtained his Electrical Journeyman Certificate in 1985, worked on an Alaskan Offshore Production Platform and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. His teaching experience began as an instructor for the IEC and the ABC apprenticeship programs at Gateway Community College in Phoenix. As an ETC safety professional, Stuart provided safety management services for multiple contractors during the construction of Intel’s Fab 42 and conducted Intel’s New Orientation training required for all employees and contractors on the Chandler site. Currently, Stuart conducts open enrollment and custom Electrical Safety, Arc Flash 2015 and COHE / HazCom / Electrical Safety which is required for Intel temporary workers.
Phil Silenski, PE, CSP
Instructor / Consultant
Since retiring from Monsanto / Solutia, Mr. Silensky has served as a consultant for Solutia and other chemical and petroleum companies. His responsibilities covered areas of materials management, research, semi-works, scale-up and full-scale production in both technical and supervisory roles. He is an experienced instructor, author of eight publications and well versed in hazard analysis and accident investigation techniques. Currently, he is involved in the areas of Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Protection as applied to the chemical industry and local small businesses.
MSHA Instructor / Consultant
Ted, a retired USAF MSgt, is an experienced MSHA instructor who, for the past 17 years, has worked with some of the largest mining companies in Arizona as a safety professional with a focus on site-specific task training. He brings a unique perspective to safety training because of his varied real world experiences. Students often leave his classes with a greater appreciation of the importance of working safely.
