Almost half our business is providing clients with meaningful, relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training that has been customized around their business and relevant policies and procedures. ETC covers all the standard topics and we excel at custom combining subjects in a focused and cost-effective way to our clients’ benefit.
As an example, we recently combined the following list of subjects into a 4-hour course for employees of an automobile dealership.
- Hazardous Materials handling, storage, and spill response
- Electrical Safety & Lock out/Tag out for affected employees
- Safe Lifting
- Slips, Trips and Falls Prevention
The client expected an 8-hour class; however, after our instructor visited his workplace and reviewed his well-documented hazard analysis and written policies and procedures, it was clear there was a very narrow focus to each subject which permitted appropriate coverage in a 4-hour class thereby saving the employer a great deal of employee time, and therefore money. Another important benefit to our focused approach was to make the class more interesting to the adult students because it didn’t bore them with material that was irrelevant to their jobs.
To many, EHS Training is a boring, tedious experience. At ETC, we rise above that paradigm and we’re good at what we do. Simply put, we utilize adult learning methods to engage students in the learning process in order to effect new behaviors.
