| Trenching & Excavation Competent Person |
(29 CFR 1926, Subpart P)
Intended for construction and utility workers and supervisors working in or around trenches and other types of excavation. This 8-hour course instructs the student in the identification of hazards, soils and analysis, use of protective systems and regulatory requirements. This allows them to be designated by their employer as a “Competent Person.” Curriculum includes: pre-evacuation procedures, trenching and shoring methods, trench safety (w e a t h e r, soil changes, vibration, spoil bank location, etc.), equipment ventilation, entry/exit procedure, monitoring and communications.
